We'll ask for your address and a rough description of the door: single or double, torsion springs overhead or side-mounted, wood or steel panels. If you know the brand of the opener, that helps too, but most people don't and that's fine - we can tell once we're looking at it.
One honest limit here: if the part your door needs is a discontinued panel or a hardware style nobody stocks anymore, we may need to order it, and that can take longer than the repair itself. We'll tell you that up front rather than promise a same-day fix we can't back up.
The Work We Take On
Most of the houses we work on around here went up between 1986 and 2006, with a lot of that stock clustered in the 1990s - Carolina Forest, Forestbrook, Socastee, and the other pockets within a few miles of Wesley St all have that same general age of garage door hardware. This stretch of coast sits in a mild climate with occasional freezes, which is easier on garage door hardware than a true winter climate but still means grease hardens and metal contracts on the rare cold snap, which is usually when an old spring finally gives out. We don't inflate that risk - it's a mild-freeze band, not a hard-freeze one, and most of our calls are wear and tear, not weather damage.
